Girl Power! Resurgent Ladies out to Paint!

Our first ever volunteer build with Resurgent Capital Services has been a lot of things! It has been an innovative partnership full of of fun, new friendships, and hard work! However, the most inspirational part of this 6-week experience has been the willingness of Resurgent employees to get involved. Over 100 different employees have had a part in the construction of these two houses. This collaboration embodies the spirit of the theme: “It takes a village…”resurgentladies1Girl Power!

This morning we were excited to welcome a brand new batch of Resurgent volunteers… this time with a little more femininity! One lady’s shirt states: “I’m NOT a tomboy, I’m an athlete!” Can somebody say, “You Go Girl!”resurgentladies4"I'm not a tomboy. I'm an athlete!"

Now in Week 6 of our two-house build, we are ready to paint to insides of the house. Next week we move on to landscaping!

When we consider the weight of what is truly being accomplished through this home construction partnership we certainly realize it’s not just about the houses. 100+ people are willing to give of their resources and themselves to provide a safe haven for another. Joyfully we consider that the impact of this partnership isn’t by chance; The Lord has orchestrated it all!

Once again we also want to thank our gracious partners for providing lunches to our volunteers this week: Horizon Church & O.J’s Diner! We would be so hungry without you!
