Meet our Board: John Smith

 Meet our Board

John and his wife Allison have recently become Homes of Hope homeowners in the West Greenville neighborhood. Together they spent 20 serving in Liberia, Malawi and Kenya with SIM and African Bible Colleges. Most of this time John worked as a mission administrator, however the last 2 ½ years of the service in Kenya he enjoyed discipling pastors and helping to start church centered sports ministry in some of the less reached parts of Kenya. He and Allison moved back to the States in October 2013 and moved to Greenville in February. He and Allison have been married for 31 years and have 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren.

"I appreciate the work that Homes of Hope does, ministering to people's spiritual and physical needs; and have seen firsthand the difference the organization has made in our neighborhood in West Greenville. I hope that as I serve on the board I can be a blessing to the organization, can learn more about ministering, and that my association with Homes of Hope can further our own ministry opportunities. I hope too that serving as a board member will result in blessing to many through the work that Homes of Hope does in different places." - John Smith

The Homes of Hope Board of Directors is made up of like-minded and equally passionate community leaders. Each serves a 4 year term—and 1/3 of our Board seats are designated to be filled by representatives of the low-to-moderate income neighborhoods that we serve. The entire Board's input is invaluable to us as they help us think strategically forward with an eye toward greater excellence in serving the community.
