BRIGHTER FUTURES

Our Men’s Workforce Development program is a voluntary, one-year residential program where men overcoming addictions can pursue revolutionary change through biblical-based discipleship, life skills and construction-related job training. Interns live and learn together through mentorship and daily Bible studies at Gideon’s House in downtown Greenville. Job training is provided through our training center and construction of our LoCAL homes, built specifically for households earning 30% or below the area median income. We ensure that each man in our program is fully equipped upon graduation, including: spiritual foundations of Biblical training and truth, marketable workforce skills through on-the-job training via LoCAL Housing and specialized classroom training, NCCER Certification through Greenville Tech, connection to community resources for economic mobility, affordable and reliable transportation opportunities, affordable and energy efficient housing opportunities and sustainable employment.

“I made the decision to come here not just to learn construction, not just to learn electrical work, but to be surrounded by these good men and to be in this discipleship program.”

—Scott Peters, Men’s Workforce Development intern
